What makes Prodigy Homes, Inc. different from other local home builders?
At Prodigy Homes, Inc. we use a unique online build system, called Buildertrend. This system allows constant communication between the builder, buyer, and subs so there are fewer misunderstandings. You are able to view daily progress photos, message the builder, and approve change orders and selections—all with just a few clicks in your personalized account. Can I visit the job site during construction?
Job sites can be very dangerous, so we ask that you please make an appointment if you decide to check on the progress of your home. Alternatively, we do post pictures of the progress every day, so you can watch your new house being built from the safety and comfort of home.
How much can I customize a standard plan?
All of our standard floorplans are fully customizable, and can be modified to suit your individual needs. If the plan fits as is, then you will still be able to customize the finishes of your home. As you can see on our collections page, we offer 3 different finish packages. Within each collection, you have choices of paint colors, flooring materials, cabinet style and color, and much more. There is also the option to upgrade anything in your home to your exact specification.
Does my new Prodigy home come with a warranty?
Every Prodigy home comes with a 2-10 home buyer’s warranty, which is this country’s leading new-home warranty program. The 2-10 ensures that your new home is protected inside and out. Find details on the 2-10 HBW here.
What if I want to make a change during construction?
Unlike some builders, we do not charge a change order fee. You have two options when a change order is issued: You may either increase the sales price of the home and finance the upgrades, or you may pay cash for the change. In the case of the latter option, a deposit of 100% of the upgrade cost is required in order to proceed with the change. Please call 509.737.6227 with any questions.
Is Prodigy Homes, Inc. an Energy Star certified or Green-Built certified builder?
Yes, we have built both energy star certified and green built certified homes.
Can I request a specific subcontractor?
Loyalty is very important to us at Prodigy Homes, so we do not switch subcontractors on request. You can rest assured, however, that we only work with efficient and knowledgeable subs. They know our scheduling requirements and high quality standards, and they will deliver a top-notch product for you.
I have my own floorplan—can you build it?
While we prefer to modify our existing floorplans to meet your needs, we are also happy to build your custom plan.
Do I have to carry my own construction financing?
The short answer is no, you do not have to carry your own construction financing. However, it will depend on the situation, the amount to be financed, and (most importantly) what the best option is for you, the buyer.
How long does it take to build a house with Prodigy?
Typically, it takes 5 to 6 months to build the house after permit. This will vary, of course, depending on the weather and any changes made that affect the completion date. That said, we at Prodigy Homes take pride in our efficient scheduling. To find out more, please see our building process.
I want to build with Prodigy! What should I do before making an appointment?
We are happy that you want to build your home with us. Before scheduling your appointment, take some time to look through our floorplans, making a list of any that interest you. Think about how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need, and how much square footage your home should have. Do you already own a lot? If not, is there a particular area you’re interested in? A good jumping off point would be our communities page. When you have some idea of what you’re looking for, we’ll be much better able to help you start building your dream home!
